We Are Excited to Present... The Shepherd's Cove Homeless Shelter Revitalization Project!
Happy Places = Happy Faces is proud to announce that we have adopted Shepherd's Cove Homeless Shelter as our most recent revitalization site.
Shepherd's Cove is one of Prince George's County's largest shelters, offering emergency housing and a full range of social services to women and children. Each year, they help hundreds. In 2006 alone, over 800 women and children benefitted from much needed housing and social services.
There are few things more important than bettering the lives of women and children in need and with the help of corporate sponsors and concerned citizens, we are doing just that. Here are some of our accomplishments to date:
Comprehensive New Design Plans! The design team at About Interiors, LLC created a master revitalization plan and donated $8,000 worth of furniture and accessories.
Fabulous Furnishings and Finishing Touches! AmericanEye, Century Furniture and Foundation, three showrooms in The Washington Design Center, generously donated furniture, accessories and carpeting.
Computers for Learning! Lockheed Martin donated 15 computers, 10 printers and a server for the Computer Training and Adult Basic Education Programs.
Phenomenal New Floors! We collaborated with the Prince George's County Office of Central Services to retile and refinish the flooring.
Gallons and Gallons of Paint! Benjamin Moore generously donated over 100 gallons of quality paint - enough to repaint this expansive two-story facility.
A Colorful New Beginning in the Cafeteria! Robert Pizzano General Contractors, Inc. painted a beautiful new finish on the cafeteria walls, setting the stage for an expansive, hand-painted mural by Studio 33.
Artistic Expressions! Acclaimed artists, Safori and Katrin Pope have donated inspirational original masterpieces that celebrate beauty, hope and family.
Signs of Change! While Lendana Construction installed the foundation for a beautiful, new sign in the garden; Majic Factory, a graphic design company, created a brilliant new display for the main administrative foyer.
Planting Seeds of Hope! The Brickman Group and Freddie Mac collaborated to bring new life and color to the landscape with donated flowers, trees and volunteer gardeners.
Thanks to these dedicated corporate sponsors, we have been able to accomplish so much; however there is a lot more to be done. Contact us today to find out how you too can make a difference in the lives of women and children!
